• I pride myself on being an incredibly empathetic person. In fact, my letter of recommendation from Coach Melges highlights this quality, where he describes how my interactions with others consistently warm his heart. Empathy is second nature to me—I genuinely feel for others and care deeply about their well-being. I find great joy when people feel comfortable opening up to me. It’s a privilege to be someone others are naturally drawn to for conversation and support. Being there for someone, listening, and offering a helping hand brings me true happiness. There’s nothing more fulfilling than knowing I’ve made a positive difference in someone’s day.

  • I am incredibly determined and have known what I wanted to achieve in life from a young age. Not only do I have a clear vision for my future, but I also take deliberate steps and create actionable plans to turn my goals into reality. To me, no dream is out of reach when you have a clear path forward. While challenges may arise, they are merely obstacles along the way. You can choose to navigate around them or face them head-on. Personally, I choose to overcome them, as avoiding challenges only delays progress. As Coach Melges mentions in his letter of recommendation, this determination and mindset are qualities he recognizes in me.

  • One important point I'd like to highlight is his observation about leadership styles. He mentions that there are typically two types of leaders: emotional and technical. As he explains, Emotional leaders have the ability to energize and inspire people in the moment, while technical leaders are the steady force others rely on, especially when the pressure is high, and things need to get done. He believes I embody a balance of both. I attribute this to my ability to think critically and creatively, combined with my empathetic and understanding nature. The key to effective leadership is knowing when to lean into each style and how to delegate responsibilities accordingly.
